Abstract:

A new species of the previously unknown in the USSR genus Bogidiella — B. ruffoi sp. n. is described from the thermal karst spring Khodja-Kaynar (mountains Kughitang-tau, eastern Turkmenia). The new species is close to B. lindbergi Ruffo from Afghanistan. It is compared with the other species of the genus. A key for all the 13 species and 1 subspecies of the genus Bogidiella under description is provided. The period and way of penetration of this species of marine origin into subterranean waters of Turkmenia remain unclear as well as those of other marine elements of the subterranean fauna of Central Asia.
