Abstract:

This paper deals with the description of Spelaeogammarus bahiensis n. g. n. sp. and of cave amphipod of the family Bogidiellidae from State of Bahia, Brazil. The new genus may be distinguished from the other two genera of the family by the following features: 1) body proporcionally less slender. 2) coxal plates well developed. 3) pleopodes with two branches well developed. 4) basipodites of the last three peraeopods very wide.
